POEM: Alienated Discrimination
Will we accept them
Or treat them like we do our own
Will we embrace them
Or shine with a light unshone
It's a matter of planetary equations
We brush up against them like stellar abrasions
Do they come for friendship
Breeding
Or just emotionless companionship
Do they need help
Are they the devil
Should we offer a fellowship
Humans look at a pretty star
600 light-years away
Instead of seeing it as a beauty beyond it's massive grey
Humans see power and authority
Whatever happened to
'You have to share'
Or, 'Peace be with thee'
Look at how we treat each other
Who could blame the ones who hover
You'd stay up there too
If a world full of "its" refused to see you
What if their only purpose is to see
Just see
Centuries have passed and we're still searching for every key
The chain that unlocks the vault of the universe
What if our newfound information
The key that they bring
Says that our only cure
The only way to get the Earth pure
Was to breed
With them
And procreate a whole new race of ourselves
Maybe one day we will be able to change our purpose
And pay a visit to ourselves
A means and a way
To just see
Maybe
Just maybe
We'll see.
